ACTION!

Find out about theatre. Discover skills you didn’t know you had. Use those to tell a story. Have fun.  Make a show with powerful images, film, sound, and huge puppets, all about the Karen and their extraordinary journey from Myanmar to Australia. To be seen at the Nati Frinj Biennale Nov. 1 & 2. Unforgettable. Funny. Sad. Maybe scary.

Learn how from famous theatre man John Bolton and see what you find. Bring a friend. Starts August 9(?) 4:30 The Station.

Food and snacks – free!

MAKE IT!

The show needs creative builders and makers. Help Dave Jones build a replica Karen village—one that can be moved around, torn down, and built again. Turn a big hall into a Karen jungle in the mountains. Create the fire that destroys it all. Help Mary French design and make the puppets that will tell this story. Human puppets made from silk, with Karen designs and textiles, as well as dogs, chickens, ducks, and even a big buffalo!

All will appear in Stories from the Karen at the Nati Frinj Biennale, Nov 1 & 2.

Making Workshops begin July 26:
