In a dark tunnel (a disused gold mine) a woman cares for a small rabbit. As the rabbit grows their relationship becomes obsessive and transgressive. Puppetry, live music, song and gesture drive the piece through moments of tenderness, brutality, humour, and despair. Hutch is now undergoing further development for different settings! This iteration of the piece was devised and performed by Rachael Wenona Guy, with the support of Monash University and Black Hole Theatre . Nancy Black directed, the live music was composed and played by cellist Kristin Rule, and the performance was presented at the 2012 inaugural Tarrengower Puppet Festival.
